EMBS continues to be rated ‘Good’

Following an inspection at the beginning of October, EMBS community college has once again been graded as good. Many of the areas for development identified in the last inspection, have been transformed into strengths.

Staff fully understand the needs of learners and provide good-quality study programmes. Imaginatively delivered and thoughtfully planned lessons motivate students and ensure they are eager and enthusiastic to learn. Good communication and effective monitoring of performance keeps overall learner achievement high.

“Current learners, many of whom have not enjoyed or performed well at school, make good progress.”

Links forged with local businesses provide a range of work placements from enthusiastic and understanding partners. Coupled with careers advice throughout, learners are able to develop their confidence and consider their career options.

“[EMBS] continue[s] to provide opportunities to raise aspirations and improve life chances for some of the most deprived young people in the Oxford area.”
