South Oxfordshire Food & Education Alliance Visit Website

South Oxfordshire Food and Education Alliance was founded in 2014 to supply local charities with fresh, nutritional produce and to provide training for those disadvantaged in the labour market.

Through holistic educational training program, SOFEA offers a practical working warehouse that trains the unemployed to be job-ready, with new confidence, self-esteem and an eagerness to re-enter the workforce. SOFEA also helps to reduce food waste and address food poverty by receiving deliveries of surplus food from supermarkets and redistributing the food to local charities.

The main focus of their programmes are on young people, however they also work with adults over 24. SOFEA was a successful partner for an ESF funded community programme for the long term unemployed and worked with adult volunteers seeking to get back to work. It is currently partner in two ESF NEET Projects (Back on Track & Unlocking Potential). 90% of people complete their programmes and progress to further training or employment.
